Book Launch and Discussion with Olivia Chow
Tuesday, January 21, 2014Olivia Chow visits Ryerson Wednesday January 29th to discuss her new book, the memoir ‘My Journey’. Ms. Chow will be in conversation with Cathy Crowe (Ryerson Distinguished Visiting Practitioner) and a panel of Ryerson students. All are welcome to attend.
Ms. Chow’s memoir examines the events, people and ideals that have shaped her journey from childhood immigrant to leading Canadian elected official. This event is co-sponsored by the Sam Gindin Chair, The Jack Layton Chair and the Ryerson Students Union. A light lunch and refreshments will be served. Attached is a poster for this event.
This event takes place from noon-1:30 in the Sears Atrium, Engineering Building, 245 Church St., January 29th.
Ms. Chow will be available for book signing at this event. Publisher Harper Collins will make several copies available free to students in attendance. To assure seating for all wishing to attend, please RSVP to: tsf@ryerson.ca
We are especially hoping to attract students to this discussion of how Olivia Chow evolved from youth activist to a compelling Canadian public figure. Faculty are welcome to bring a class they may have at this time, but please RSVP at the address above to let us know in advance.
